Stop Motion Animation

Description

This is a hands-on class where students will learn to create flexible characters out of paper or clay, and make them come to life through the process of stop motion, learning the fundamentals of animation, as well as the step by step process in turning an idea, into a fully realized animated scene. Stop Motion Animation is the oldest form of film animation. Using small physical models, and manipulating them one frame at a time on miniature sets, stop motion was used to bring some of the most memorable screen characters of all time to life, like The California Raisins, Wallace and Gromit, and King Kong (1933).
